Award Nominations Requested

On September 5 and 6, 2014, Emord & Associates will celebrate its 20th Anniversary.  This two day spectacular at the scenic Hyatt Regency Resort, Golf Course, and Spa is entitled “Rekindling Liberty’s Sacred Fire”[1] and will be emceed by a Hollywood celebrity and will include prominent speakers, among them: a Fox News Channel show host; a former Attorney General of the United States, a former Assistant Attorney General of the United States; a United States Senator dedicated to liberty; two United States Congressmen dedicated to liberty; and several prominent Washington opinion and policy leaders.  Professional musicians and singers will also add a patriotic flare to the festivities.

I write to solicit your nominations for awards that will be announced on the second day of the event.  Six sets of awards will be given to leaders in (1) nutrition science; (2) the fight for freedom of informed choice; (3) philanthropic support of the natural health movement; (4) health product innovation; (5) integrative medicine; and (6) natural health journalism.  Up to 10 awards will be given in categories (1) and (5) and up to 5 awards will be given in categories (2), (3), (4), and (6).  Those nominated will be studied by a firm committee that will choose those it believes in its independent discretion are best qualified for each award.  Please send the names of those you nominate for awards in one or more of these categories to Jonathan Emord at jemord@emord.com.  Nominations will be accepted until December 31, 2013.  Individuals may nominate anyone for the awards other than themselves.

Award recipients will be notified in confidence in January of 2014 and will be revealed to the public and press at the event on September 6, 2014.

Formal invitations will be sent to all clients of the firm in April 2014.  Clients of the firm are eligible for discounted rates at the resort and free of charge: reserved seating at the gourmet dinner and speaking event the first night; one of three Washington, D.C. area excursions the morning of the second day (guided tour of Ford’s Theater; cruise from Washington Harbor to Mount Vernon with a guided tour of George Washington’s estate; or guided tour of the nation’s Capitol); and the awards banquet.  Those who are not clients of the firm may attend the event on a first come first served basis if seating is available for a fee of $450, exclusive of hotel accommodations.

[1] The title is derived from the following prophetic statement in George Washington’s First Inaugural Address (April 30, 1787): “The preservation of the sacred fire of liberty, and the destiny of the republican model of government, are justly considered as deeply, perhaps as finally staked, on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people.”
