New Practice Areas: White Collar Crime and European Union Law
Effective November 1, 2012, the firm is pleased to announce the expansion of its practice to include white collar crime as it pertains to alleged violations of, inter alia, the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the Postal Service Act, and the False Statements Act, among others, and to include representation of clients regarding EU Law before the Court of Justice of the European Union and EU Member States.

Peter A. Arhangelsky. Effective January 1, 2012, the firm welcomed Peter A. Arhangelsky to be a principal. Peter matriculated to principal based on outstanding performance in service to the firm’s clients. Peter practices constitutional and administrative law before the federal courts and agencies. In particular, he represents clients before the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Federal Trade Commission, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Bureau of Land Management, and the U.S. Department of Justice.
Lou Caputo. Effective November 1, 2012, the firm welcomes Lou Caputo to be an associate. Lou is a former prosecutor, having served as lead counsel in over 44 trials, including those involving defendants charged with 2nd degree murder, manslaughter, and aggravated assault. In 2010, Lou received MADD’s Felony Prosecutor of the Year award. Lou will join Peter Arhangelsky in defending clients accused of criminal violation of the U.S. Food Drug and Cosmetic Act, the Postal Service Act, and the False Statements Act. Lou will also assist in constitutional and administrative law cases and general civil litigation before the federal courts and agencies.
Marije J. Osse. Effective November 1, 2012, the firm welcomes Marije Osse as Of Counsel. Marije is admitted to practice in The Netherlands, before the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights. She is partner at a Dutch law firm that maintains ‘best friend’ relationships with law firms active in other EU Member States. Marije has over 14 years of experience representing clients on matters of EU and Dutch Competition Law as well as European Law. She has litigated extensively and specializes in regulatory law as it pertains to the importation, manufacture, sale, distribution, and export of foods and food supplements. Her expertise also includes the healthcare market.
